This will be a short post but I wanted to update you all on a few things. Unfortunately, I do not have any poetry for you but I do have poetry-related news.
We got back from our vacation at 2:30 a.m. last night. We’re still in the Twin Cities and have a three-hour drive in front of us and a trip to IKEA to look at couches! This is some of the business I need to attend to now that we are home.
Anthology Update
For those of you who are included in the ekphrastic poetry anthology I’ve been working on, I have great news! My preferred editor has accepted the job and the book is in her capable hands!
Although I do not have any feedback yet, I hope to have some by the end of the weekend. She plans to be finished with the editing by February 28th! I am still writing front and back matter for the book but it is coming along nicely. She will edit that as well.
So we are on track to have the book come out in March as planned. This is of course dependent on how my upload to KDP and the hard copy preview go before going live. But, I love that I planned well and was able to keep to the proposed schedule for this new publication.
Traveling Bag
Last year, during a poetry exchange, fellow Poet and Poetry Friday participant Denise Krebs sent me (and others, I believe) this reusable market bag. Since it’s receipt, I’ve taken it to Europe last fall and now it’s been to the Carribean! It’s very useful, carrying a scarf I purchasesd as a gift in Koblentz Germany and groceries in St. Thomas.

Thanks, Denise! It’ a great bag and fun for me to take on my trips. It’s so light and easy to fold up and pack for easy carrying. The bag was made in Nepal.

Margaret Simon is the host for this week’s Poetry Friday Round Up at her blog Reflections on the Teche. You can find her sweet post about a wildflower her grandson gave her and links to other poems. Thanks for hosting Margaret!
Happy travels. Good to know you are safely home.

Carol, your travel photo is so beautiful. It draws me in and makes me feel the warmth of the beach as the winter chill continues. I am thrilled with your good news. You have worked diligently to move the new anthology along. May it be a true blessing for you and the many readers who will read through the poetry while enjoying the photos. The bag Denise sent you is colorful and just right for traveling adventures.
