Tick Tock, I’m on the Clock!

Tick Tock, I’m on the Clock.

Eggs to check.

Caterpillars to feed.

Butterflies to release.

Tick Tock, I’m still on the Clock.

Jewelry to make.

A website to finish.

Gallery pieces to mail.

Tick Tock, I’m on the Clock Again.

School obligations start.

A senior year looms.

Forms, forms, and more forms.

Beckon a future here, there, or somewhere,

but not too far away.

Tick Tock, I’m on the Clock.

Sleep calls, but not always comes.

Instead, unwanted thoughts swirl in my head

Until my visitor, insomnia, joins me for tea.

I reluctantly agree but secretly smile,

for I know just holding the cup in my hands

will banish this invader of slumber.

Tick Tock, I’m on the Clock.

A visit to the Capitol.

A stay at the Cabin.

A trip to the Rockies, but north not west.

Tick Tock, I’m on the Clock.

I wish time would slow down.
