Happy Independence Day, too!
I’m back to writing a little poetry and had fun with this acrostic this week:
ACCOMPLISH
Achieve your goal
Complete a mission
Congratulate yourself
Only you can do this
Make time
Plan Accordingly
Love what you do
Independently assess
Shy away from procrastination
Happy it is done

I’m a very goal-oriented person, and while most times that is good, sometimes it is not. It makes it hard to relax. But I am trying. This week, I finished putting my annuals in the ground, and some of our perennials have started to bloom. The yard is looking better than ever.
Making some new pieces of jewelry has also taken some time, and I’ve allowed myself to enjoy that.
Our bird feeder has been active, and I’ve made a point to stop and watch the antics of the red-breasted grosbeak and goldfinches while they eat.
Lastly, I am still working on my website/blog. I’ve decided to stick with WordPress and am customizing my pages. Of course, it is slow going and not done, but I like this theme better than the other that I was using. Finally, my archives are all in one place and easily accessed. I also hope that by upgrading, fewer people will experience problems accessing it.
My recent Medium.com articles are:
They should all have friend links. If you find it is not the case and you want to read the article, send me a request and I’ll get the link to you in the comments. Thanks.
I was amiss not mentioning that Michelle Kogan, poet, teacher, artist, and illustrator extraordinaire, has our roundup this week. Please visit her blog for more at https://moreart4all.wordpress.com/2026/07/02/poetry-friday-roundup-4th-of-july-justice/#respond. Thanks, Michelle.
Have a safe and Happy Fourth!

Goal oriented is not a bad thing. I need to be more so. But, like you, I am happy when it is done. I love to check things off a list.
Thank you Margaret. I agree, it is not bad to have goals. I just cannot see my way clear of them sometimes. I also like to cross things off a list! Happy 4th!
Your acrostic speaks directly to my heart!
Thanks, Mary Lee. I am happy to know that! Happy 4th!
