Fabric Obsessed

Ever since I started making fabric masks for PPE, I am obsessed with fabric!

I cannot seem to stay away from the fabric store! And, even if I go there to get something other than fabric – like thread, elastic, interfacing, or another craft item, I come out with fabric!

Today was a case in point. My Wisconsin masks are a big hit in my Etsy shop. I’ve offered them in three fabric choices so far. The first was the Wood Violet fabric which is our state symbol. I really liked how pretty this fabric was with the green and purple contrasting colors. Then, I bought some WI postcard fabric – covered with more symbols that represent our state – and university system. And, finally, I bought – twice now – University of Wisconsin Badger – red and white fan fabric. As I said, the masks are selling well, so I went to the fabric to get more Badger fabric. But, they were out of any NCAA team fabric. Honestly, I would have gotten any area team like the MN Gophers or ISU Cyclones. But, all of it, in cotton at least, was gone!

So, I probably should have left. I have a pile of fabric from which to make more masks. This pile is the result of other trips to the fabric store or God-forbid an online shopping experience or two!  I am just very attracted to the designs and colors of the cotton fabric that is available! But, I didn’t leave. I started looking.

Dangerous! Very Dangerous!

The fabric I found and purchased today.

Soon, I found some bolts of Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang fabric. Who doesn’t love Charlie Brown??? I know I do! Oh, and there were some Halloween prints as well! Oh, and a fall print with bright colors but not Halloween. And, look over there, in the next section there was a bolt of Minon fabric from the Despicable Me movie!  My sister in law loves Minions! I just had to get what was left of that!

In short, my trip to the fabric store yielded more fabric but not the type I was looking for! That’s okay. I’ll just have to go back!
